THE HOME PLACE: New England and Kailua, HI

ABBREVIATED LIFE HISTORY:

Born in the suburbs of Boston. Rode the train in on the weekends to roller skate through the public gardens. Joined the ski team. Broke my ankle twice on the mountain. Spent the summers in the ocean on my boogey board. Found my voice on the stage in high school and starred in a couple plays. Sang every week at the local coffee shop. Searched for an endless summer by escaping to North Carolina for college. It snowed more than it ever had that year. Continued my search for sunshine by taking an anthropology course in Hawaii during winter session. Spent six weeks studying the ancient culture. Fell in love with a place for the first time. Transferred to Hawaii Pacific University the following semester. Found my soul mate. Played endlessly in the Hawaiian waves. Surfed boards and canoes. Bounced off the coral. Got wrapped in Portuguese Man o` Wars. Almost drown trying to prove I could keep up with the boys at Barra de la Cruz. Graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Public Relations. Wrote for Governor Lingle. Staged state ceremonies. Drank wine in the cafes of Paris and on the hillsides of Tuscany. Almost broke my tailbone finding that snowboarding is not simply a blend of skiing and surfing. Began writing a book. Pried myself away from the islands to set out for new opportunities in San Clemente. Accidently discovered a love for events by helping out a new friend. Began working for a company that had professionalism, passion and integrity rooted in its core values, and discovered a home with NRG Marketing.

SIMPLE LIFE PLEASURES:

Love. Family. Sunshine. Laughter. Sand between my toes. The crashing of waves just off in the distance. A relaxing, playful longboard session with my love. An abandoned home break on a warm Hawaiian evening. Common courtesy. Friendly people. Hosting family dinners. Skiing with my big brother. Fresh powder. Fresh flowers. A long walk or glass of wine with Mom. The Beatles. James Taylor. Dave Matthews Band. Joss Stone. Paulo Coelho books. Lazy Sundays. Crisp fall air. The smell of autumn leaves and wood burning fireplaces. The first warm day after a long, cold winter.
